5 Things you Would Love About Port Harcourt City

5 Things you Would Love About Port Harcourt City - www.connectnigeria.com
If you’re big into touring and visiting new places and have not been to Port Harcourt city, (PH) then I have to ask, where have you been going? Traveling is not something I like to do though; but when I was much younger it was a top list favorite hobby. Probably because I was driven to school or taken for shopping and I thought travelling was that simple. What did I know?  Still I find knowing about new cultures, or new places generally exciting. So, whenever I have the time, I travel anyway. That’s why when the opportunity presented itself, I did not hesitate to take a trip to Port Harcourt. Port Harcourt is not only a major industrial town but it’s also a beautiful place and full of fun, plus it has quite a number of tourist attractions. There are lots of reasons to love PH but I’ve narrowed down just a few:      1. Jobs Like I said, it’s an industrial city; the number of companies that are in PH are pretty much. From oil firms to other top multinational companies. Even if you’re looking to start your own thing, there are lots of opportunities too.      2. The popular Bole and fish Let me take a minute to appreciate this delicacy. You probably have had bole and fish in other states but I can categorically tell you that the bole in Port Harcourt is different from the rest. It’s prepared in a delectable and variety of ways and can be found in every corner of the city. Don’t like buying things by the roadside? Then, no problem you can go to Bole king restaurant and still get you a yummy dose of Bole deliciousness. You probably would enjoy it so much you might as well make it a morning, afternoon and evening meal (like I did).      3. Transportation isn’t that hard Moving from place to place isn’t that difficult. Although there are not much roads but that’s what makes it easier IMO. The transportation system is ok and you can literally walk from point A to point B; almost everywhere is close to each other.      4. You will be able to save I’m sure you must have heard that Port Harcourt is really an expensive place, well, that’s not completely untrue, but it’s not ridiculously expensive either. The trick is to know the right place to go. From food items to clothing and transportation, it’s quite affordable. You won’t have to spend a lot on your basic needs and you would be able to save your earnings.      5. Visit the cultural center This is one of the many tourist centers to enjoy in Port Harcourt. The cultural center exhibits the rich and versatile culture of the Port Harcourt people. You will get to see local artifacts, African figurines, pottery, African jewelries and lots more that tells the history of the city. There’s also a theater for live performance of cultural dances and plays that are held regularly. I bet you would be delighted to learn new and awesome things about their culture. There’s always something new and fun to see in Port Harcourt so when next you’re planning a getaway, don’t hesitate to try out this city. Feature Image: Jumia Travel.
