There are 4.75 million Houses in Lagos, Government Says

Lagos, a heavily populated city, and the commercial capital of Nigeria, is said to have 4.75 million houses, according to Bosun Jeje, the Lagos Commissioner for Housing. He said at an event, “Bridging the 16 million National Housing Deficits: the Dry Construction Solution” that 3 million of that figure are residential, while the rest are religious or for business.
He also said that Nigeria has a housing deficit of 16 million, and Lagos has is working to improve housing for residents in the state, he said, “”The need to bridge any housing gap informed the State Government’s involvement in the construction of houses with the critical engagement of the private sector. And this government effort is yielding results with many houses being constructed in Igando, Surulere, Ijora Badiya and Lekki among others.”
