Between 10 and 12 startups working to improve the state of African ecosystems will be selected for the accelerator. Startups taking on such issues as climate change, land degradation, deforestation, loss of biodiversity, and water scarcity will be considered.

- Participate in virtual learning sessions that will prepare them for funding and expansion
- Receive mentorship from investors and potential partners
- Get valuable advice from representatives of financial institutions, corporates and experienced entrepreneurs at mock board meetings
- Gain access to an investment analyst who will take them through the process of building financial models, utilizing financial metrics to further business and investor diligence, and identifying unit economics
- Be featured on Village Capital’s program website and other channels
Eligibility
Startups may be considered for a place in the accelerator program if they meet these conditions:Register to attend the CN Business Mixer
- Should be a for-profit entity duly registered in a sub-Saharan African country
- Must have a marketable solution that addresses ecosystem challenges in Africa
- Gained traction but received less than $1 million in equity
- Have customer or business validation (revenue, pilot studies, number of users, etc.)
- Should have at least one founder based in Africa who works with the startup full-time
