The Power of Words

Words have unbelievable power but sometimes they hurt. And getting hurt by others’ words is a very common issue all of us face in life. Sometimes, the echoes of what someone else has said about you especially to your face, keep repeating over and over again in your head, unless you’re extremely positive in life and totally focused. If you are always at the receiving end of hurtful words, you might want to check again if you are caring too much about what others think and say about you, rather than what you know and believe about yourself. Yes, we do live in a society where we have to play by the rules, but we need to determine how much is too much when we try to care. When someone tries to hurt you with their words, replace those words with positive thoughts. Your mind is your mind; you can control your thoughts and cheer yourself up rather than allowing the hurtful words of others take control of it. You can also retort, replying to those hurtful words and standing up for yourself. If you let it go all the time without doing anything about it, you might end up repressing yourself; and when you are repressed, you feel a void and then hurts fill it. Another way is to simply avoid people who are constantly there to hurt you with their words. I am not asking you to be a loner, but you can replace the people you hang out with. Take responsibility for your life, choose your friends, choose people you interact with and hang out with. It could make a huge difference. If you are the one saying hurtful words to people, I have one advice for you; WORDS HURT, DON’T BE A PART OF IT.
