The Nollywood industry has been in existence for a long time now but a close look at the industry raises a vital question, majorly because of the change in taste of viewers especially in this present time with much competition with foreign industries like; Hollywood and Bollywood.
It is worthy to note that today’s Nollywood industry has grown largely from time past. We’ve seen a couple of ‘A-list movies created’, the likes of “The Figurine” by Kunle Afolayan. This is a function of so many things, ranging from the script written for the cast that features, down to even the location of the movie.
While we’ve seen some A-list movies made, we’ve also seen a lot of not so great movies. Most of these low quality movies are the ones we see frequently as a lot of them are released more and more, which takes away the focus from the quality ones that don’t come so often.
There are a lot of reasons why movie makers make the sort of movies they do. As much as we would want quality movies, we have to know some of the factors surrounding the making of these movies so we can understand the struggle and tussle between plenty low quality movies and few high quality movies.
In the subsequent post, we’d see the factors that make most movie makers settle for the kind of movies they do.
