In life, people go through rough patches and eventually get to see the light at the end of the tunnel. The Super eagles of Nigeria have tasted both sides of the coin and they are currently on a new adventure.
The team is being led by the charismatic Steven Okechukwu Keshi, who is an ex-Super Eagles captain and former head coach of Togo and Mali National Team. Keshi is attempting to reincarnate the flare and passion during the Westerhorf tutored team of 1994.
In other to at least equal the team’s previous success, the chief coach of the Super Eagles has ventured into local based players. So far it has been reaping some reward both for the NFA and Nigerians. Even though it has not been all rosy for the team, they have not lost any competitive match throughout their world cup and nation’s cup qualifying series.
Although it is not certain that this early success recorded will last all through, it is important to note that as long as the Federation gives Keshi time and the liberty to do his work, that exciting dream may not elude us.
