NASME is a non-profit that represents MSMEs from across Nigeria. Since its founding in 1996, it has helped to strengthen the capacity of small businesses to function and thrive in the country’s challenging commercial and industrial environment. It considers the Youth Empowerment Business Scheme Competition a part of its attempts to drive growth in the small business space.
Benefit
MSMEs selected by the organizers of this program will receive a grant that will enable them to build further and scale. They could also benefit from the exposure that the competition provides its top participants.Sign up for the Connect Nigeria daily newsletter
Eligibility
The competition’s top 10 applicants will be chosen based on the following criteria:- Applicants should be between 15 and 29 years old
- They must reside in Nigeria
- Their business must be solving a unique problem or must have introduced a new way of solving an existing problem (they will be paid greater attention if they tackle an SDG issue or pressing local challenge)
- The business must be at the proof of concept or early stage, and the entrepreneur must be running it full-time
- The business should be in ICT, agriculture, manufacturing, food and beverage, hospitality, creative, or professional services industry
- It should be less than 5 years old (its age is to be calculated from the date of its incorporation)
- It must be for-profit and have the potential to scale
