The Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST) is now receiving applications from qualified candidates who want to enrol in the latest edition of its entrepreneurial training program.

For 12 months, entrepreneurs from all over Africa undergo graduate-level training that enables them to successfully run a tech startup on the continent. Starting in 2008, MEST has trained more than 2,000 entrepreneurs and funded over 90 companies. Alumni of the MEST program have received significant funding from global investors, and have gotten into such prestigious accelerator programs as Y Combinator, 500 Startups, and TechStars.

Components of the MEST Curriculum

The MEST program will cover these areas and more: core programming languages, web and mobile development, UI/UX, market research, branding and communications, market research, product development and innovation, financial management and investment, marketing and growth hacking, legal and regulatory compliance, product development and innovation, and metrics and measurement.

Eligibility

This program is open to persons who meet these criteria:

Have a strong desire to start a software company
A degree from a top university of technical college
Skilled in communications, business, or software development
Aged between 18 and 35 years
Be willing and able to attend a full-time, fully residential 12-month program in Accra, Ghana
