Students will work, learn, and earn. They will gain a broad and deep understanding of such technologies as greenhouse farming, hydroponics (soilless farming), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) tools, and Integrated Pest Management. Students will be enrolled quarterly, with 1,000 students selected per quarter. At the MasterCard Foundation, they will be split into several groups, with each group having technical agronomy, packaging, and accounting/management teams.

Benefits
This program will benefit participating students in the following ways:- Get trained in basic greenhouse setup
- Learn soilless farm setup
- Be trained in basic AI and ML tools used in vegetable farming
- Gain expertise in farm management
- Earn a stipend for 3 months of training
- Get paid a salary from the fourth month, from the proceeds of their sold produce

Eligibility
In order to be eligible for the MasterCard Foundation Youth in Agriculture program, intending applicants must meet these conditions:- Be between the ages of 18 and 29 years at the time they apply
- Physically and mentally fit to work on a farm
- Willing to work at the location of the farm (Awowo, Abeokuta, Ogun State)
- Willing and able to enrol for and be trained through it for as long as it lasts (12 months; 3-month training and 9-month mentorship)
- Have no criminal record
