The Google AI First Accelerator Program for African Startups

Google is inviting startups in Africa that are building AI and ML-based solutions for the African market to apply for a place in its AI First Accelerator program. The 10-week accelerator is equity-free and will enable ventures operating in any sector and utilizing Artificial Intelligence in transformative ways to acquire the knowledge and resources they need to strengthen their productive, problem-solving, and fundraising capacities.

The organizers of the Google AI First Accelerator say that they are on the lookout for companies with “a strong team and a clear vision for how AI can be used to solve real-world challenges”. After identifying such ventures, the Google AI First Accelerator will work with them to fine-tune their products and improve their exposure to potential partners and investors.

Eligibility

The Google AI First Accelerator is open to startups that meet these criteria:

They should be between the Seed and Series A stages and must demonstrate traction
Must be building a product that’s scalable, targeted at a significant market, and part of a viable business model
Should be deeply technical, leveraging technologies like AI and Machine Learning
CTO and/or other persons in technical roles should be committed to attending required program sessions
