The New Narratives Challenge (#NewNarrativesChallenge) is a video-based contest; that is, entrants have to submit a video that contains their story. It should be a one-minute Instagram video or 30 second Instagram reel. Participants are expected to state the country they are from in the video and use the hashtag #NewNarrativesChallenge. Their story should be about their culture, people, places, adventures, etc., and told to change narratives around these things.

How The Competition Will Unfold

Contestants are to post their stories on Instagram, using the hashtags #NewNarrativesChallenge and #NoToASingleStory. After reviewing the videos submitted, the selection panel will select the top ten videos. They will announce these winners, and contact them. The top ten winners will be asked to fill a form, provide photographs of them, and agree to terms and conditions. Their photographs will be used in publicity materials. The challenge will remain open until 11:59 PM UK time, on Friday, September 3. Featured Image Source: Opportunities For Africans
