The theme of the 2018 conference is “The impact of the event industry in Africa”.
Atinu´da’s third annual conference and dinner is slated to take place in Lagos on the 6th and 7th of June 2018. This notable event has been designed to further enhance creativity and uniqueness in the event industry in Africa whilst recognizing its impact on the economy. The Nigerian events industry is currently pegged at $20 billion with the events industry in Nigeria estimated to be amongst the most extravagant in the world. In 2015, Lagos State reportedly hosted 20,000 events monthly with earnings of about $300,000,000 annually. This is besides several events held outside Lagos and Nigeria. CNN also recently featured an inside on “ Nigeria’s million dollar wedding industry” with the event industry credited for creating entire industries that didn’t exist or were previously unprofitable.
With the revolution of the event industry, Nigeria now acknowledges and appreciates its significance. We however realize the importance of having seasoned and professional players in the industry as being a crucial and integral part to the overall growth and development within the nation and Africa. The need for the development of skills and talents of event planners/suppliers in Nigeria and Africa that is at par with other developed countries cannot be undermined. Our long-term goal is to create a platform that allows such growth and development take place. To be part of a process that identifies, creates and drives excellence. Our long-term vision is to contribute in building greater and well-seasoned entrepreneurs who make the decision to pursue this path
The maiden edition of `Atinu´da´ successfully held in June 2016 and witnessed in attendance three seasoned Internationally acclaimed speakers; Diann Valentine, the incredibly sought-after and admired Founder of Diann Valentine Living Well, Inc. United States of America, Christina Holt the founder and director of Wedding Concepts, South Africa and Seyi Olusanya the CEO of Once Upon a Destination who is recognized as one of the world’s most inspirational and creative wedding professionals. With the tremendous success and demand from attendees and industry partners, the second edition of `Atinu´da´ held on the 15th of June 2017. The conference had a distinct line up of seasoned speakers such as Preston Bailey, Marcy Blum, Elizabeth Solaru (international speakers), Adebola Williams, CEO of Red Media Africa & Statecraft Inc., Lillian Olubi, Co- Founder of Primera Africa Finance Group, Mai Atafo an accomplished bespoke fashion designer, Osayi Alilie, CEO Acts fonudation.
