SystemSpecs Children’s Day Essay Competition 2024

SystemSpecs, the parent company of Remita, is organizing an essay competition for young Nigerians to mark Children’s Day. It is inviting school children to send in their essays for a chance to win great prizes and be recognized for their scholarly aptitude. As was the case in previous editions, entries from across Nigeria are welcome, and will be equally reviewed if they meet the submission criteria.

The topic for this year’s essay is: Protecting the Nigerian Child from the Dangers of Online Technology. In line with this, entries are expected to shine a spotlight on the dangers of online technology for children, and how important it is to shield the Nigerian child from them.

Eligibility

This competition is open to persons who meet these criteria:

Primary and secondary school children aged between 9 and 16 years
Persons in the junior category (aged 9-12) will submit an essay not longer than 1,000 words; students in the senior category (aged 13 to 16) will submit an essay with a maximum of 1,500 words
Essays must be written in English
An accredited school official, parent, or guardian must endorse entries
Submission must be the entrant’s original thoughts; plagiarism will not be accepted

The submission portal for the competition will be opened on February 20, 2024. Applications will remain open until April 20, with winners announced on May 27. The award ceremony will take place on June 7. You can find out more about this opportunity HERE.
