The Lagos State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), is organizing a two-day workshop titled ‘Promoting, Projecting and Re-positioning Domestic Football in Nigeria: A Challenge for the Media’. The workshop will be held at its secretariat, the National Stadium in Lagos.
Speakers for the event include, Honourable Minister and Chairman, National Sports Commission, Bolaji Abdulahi; Chairman of the League Management Company (LMC), Hon. Nduka Irabor; Larry Izamoje, Founder of 88.9 Sports Radio Brila FM; Dr. Ken Onyeali Ikpe, the Managing Director of Allseasons MediaCom Limited; Martin Oloja of The Guardian newspapers; Jenkins Alumona, an Editor at Goal.com and Colin Udoh, a FIFA Media Officer.
Several stakeholders in sports in Nigeria are expected at the workshop, with discussions expected to center on growing interest in the local league. The workshop is sponsored by Globacom, and will be held on September 12th and 13th.
