Super Eagles striker and 2014 World Cup hopeful, Bright Dike, has picked up a torn Achilles injury. Dike’s injury means that he’s out of the Eagles squad for the World Cup in Brazil.
The injury comes almost two years after Dike suffered a torn Achilles with his erstwhile club, Portland Timbers.
Dike who had began to walk his way into the plans of Nigerian head coach Stephen Keshi was, last week, invited to a pre-World Cup friendly against Mexico on March 5.
The injury implies that the spot will be open for another player. There are expectations that the Eagles coach will be inviting England-based striker, Osaze Odemwingie to fill up the vacuum.
