Nigerian national male football team, the Super Eagles, were unmoved in the latest FIFA/Coca – Cola football ranking published on the ruling global football body’s website on Thursday, April 9, 2020. Nigeria remained the 31st best football nation on earth which equally saw the Eagles maintain their third spot in Africa. Senegalese national team, the Teranga Lions, also maintained their position as first in Africa ahead of the Tunisian national team which sit at second, while 2019 African Cup of Nations champions, Algeria, and Morocco occupies the fourth and fifth positions respectively.

Further, there were no changes in the global rankings as regards the top five teams in the world as Belgium retained the top spot, leaving 2018 World Cup champions, France in second, while Brazil, England, and Uruguay completed the top five.

It is hardly surprising that nations remained unmoved in the latest football rankings as the international FIFA break for March was unused due to the recent suspension of football activities in almost all parts of the world, a resultant effect of the corona virus pandemic which the globe is struggling to contain. The next FIFA/Coca-Cola football ranking will be published on June 11, 2020.
