Nigeria has maintained its 47th position in the world and 7th in Africa in the monthly FIFA/Coca-Cola ranking with 626 points.
Ivory Coast remains the highest ranked African country with 839 points; this is in spite of the fact that it has dropped to 24th place. Algeria and Egypt make up the top three in Africa as they are placed 25th and 26th respectively in the world.
Cape Verde Islands is the fourth most ranked African team and 33rd in the world with 739 points, while Ghana (35) and Tunisia (44) occupy fifth and sixth place on the continent.
Cameroon (50), Guinea (53) and Mali (56) make up the African top ten with 588, 572 and 561 points respectively.
The Top 10 in the world include Spain, Germany, Argentina, Portugal and Colombia, remaining unchanged in the top five spots, respectively.
Close behind them are Uruguay (6th, up 1) and Switzerland (7th, down 1), while Belgium (10th, up 1) have jumped up into the top ten at the expense of the Netherlands (11th, down 1). Meanwhile, England (12th, up 3) and Russia (19th, up 3) have made good progress in the top 20.
FIFA said that 67 matches were taken into account out of which 57 were friendlies with the other 10 games being AFC Asian Cup qualifiers.
