Social Media Week Lagos, renowned as Africa’s largest technology event, is set to take place at the Landmark Centre Oniru, Lagos, from the 27th of February to the 3rd of March 2017.
This is the 5th edition of the SMW Lagos, a part of the global Social Media Week conference which cuts across all six continents with the aim of exploring the social, cultural and economic impact of social media and helping individuals and organizations connect through collaboration, learning and the sharing of ideas and information.
Regardless of culture, technology in the information age has become a universal language and has changed the way we communicate. This year’s SMW Lagos theme, “The [new] Language of Technology: The Future of Communication in Africa”, focuses on the impact of technology on communication.
The impact of social media cuts across virtually all fields and owing to this, the SMW Lagos would have over 300 speakers, over a hundred official and independent events, and an expected 15,000 participants spanning the weeklong programme. Via keynotes, master classes, workshops, panel discussions and network parties, the events would cover a broad range of categories in the fields of business, technology, arts, politics, science, and education.
