Who is Lasisi?
Lasisi Elenu, whose real name is Nosa Afolabi but is fondly called Lasisi, is a social media influencer and also a Nigerian comedian who posts comic videos on Snapchat and Instagram, with a strong following of 2.2m on Instagram which he began in 2017.
He has also been described as Nigeria’s No, 1 Ranter, an Event MC, and moderator, an actor, content creator, singer, and rapper. The phrase “SumJusAppenRightNow” was gotten from his usual intro in each of his videos where he begins by saying – “Laisisi is here again, something just happened right now.” It can be safely said that the comedian popularised the use of the “wide-mouth” filter – found on Instagram and Snapchat – in Nigeria.

Lasisi began his career as a musician, which he invested his whole time, before moving on to comedy. He hails from Lagos State and was born on the 20th of April, 1989. He turned 30 this year, even though most believe he is much older than the stated age and he debunked such misconception when on his birthday this year, he said “Can’t someone just be young in peace. Fresh young blood flowing through my veins, I tell you.” He is estimated to have a net worth of over $50,000.
Rise To Fame
Lasisi started posting his video skits on Instagram in August of 2017. At first, the response was not so encouraging but he kept at it and his following gradually grew. Today, the young social media influencer boasts of a large following Instagram and Snapchat, as well as Twitter.
Asides from his use of the Instagram “wide-mouth” filter which the Nigerian audience has come to embrace, Lasisi is also an undeniably talented individual. Like most creatives, he gets his inspiration from his skits from daily experiences and conversations with others.
Education
Lasisi graduated from the University of Ilorin where he studied Agriculture and Biosystems Engineering.
