Ageless politician and frontline activist for Bakassi Indigenes, Senator Florence Ita-Giwa, has assured Nigerian youths who have interest in movies, music and fashion to keep faith with their dreams and passion because according to her. the Nation will soon come to terms with the reality of the enormous potentials in the industry. The politician was speaking at XQL Lounge in the heart of Lagos when the showbiz and media community gathered to celebrate the one year anniversary of “Sugar and Spice” a television program produced by NTA2 Lagos and Lion Rose pictures. Commending the efforts of the young TV producer and presenter, Senator Ita-Giwa praised Rose Peters for making a head way in a male dominated industry that is as challenging as TV production. “I am very glad to be here today, because for over a year my lovely daughter Rose Peters has worked really hard to ensure she brings this show on air every week. I have been on the show once and I must say I was very impressed. It is very gladdening to see that it is a lady who is doing all this. I must also quickly add that I salute the creativity of young Nigerians in showbiz and fashion, I implore you not to give up because in no distant future this oil will dry up and I strongly believe an industry like showbiz will become our saving grace.” The anniversary featured an amazing musical performance by former President Of Actors Guild Of Nigeria (AGN), Segun Arinze, who had Nollywood actress Mary Uranta on stage for his performance as well as Funky Mallam and other young talents.
