Serena And Venus Williams To Play Exhibition Matches In Nigeria

The most successful siblings in the world of tennis, Serena and Venus Williams will embark on an African tour of Nigeria and South Africa next month. The Williams sisters are billed to visit the industrial capital of Nigeria, Lagos on the 30th of October. While in Lagos, the dynamic tennis sister will inspire, motivate and mentor young Nigerians through a tennis clinic and an exhibition match which will also be their first in Africa. Programme coordinator Tunji Adeyinka said Venus and Serena’s story of passion, determination, hard work and self-belief serve to boost the morale of athletes and business people alike. The event is scheduled to take place at the Lagos Tennis Club in Onikan from October 30th to November 2nd. Venus and Serena Williams will also visit South Africa in November 2012 to help launch the Breaking the Mould campaign. This year has been wonderful for Serena who won the recently concluded US Open, her fifth Wimbledon title, first Olympic singles gold and Olympic doubles gold with the sister in London.
