The highly anticipated Galaxy Note II has been released in the Nigerian market by Samsung Electronics’, the world’s largest maker of mobile handsets.
The device, a hybrid of a smartphone and tablet, was launched in Nigeria on Thursday, December 12 in Lagos. Bravo Kim, managing director, Samsung Electronics West Africa, explained that the company aims to maintain dominance over other smartphone manufacturers in the global market. He noted that the company specifically caters to the tastes of customers that desire large phone screens.
“The Galaxy Note II is taking over the fame of its predecessor, the Galaxy Note, which opened a new category of smart mobile devices last year. A great number of innovations were injected into the product towards delivering new value to enhance the lives of our consumers and also provide them with the ultimate communication experience. The device has already gained fame, alongside a solid reputation, among individuals and mobile carriers across the globe and we are very proud of its accomplishments,” Kim said.
The Samsung Galaxy Note II is powered by the latest version of Android Operating System, Jelly Bean. It also features a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor and 4G LTE connectivity. Its 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display is what gives it the semblance of both a smartphone and a tablet without compromising on its portability.
The device also has a dual camera; an 8 megapixel rear-facing and 1.9 megapixel front-facing camera that enables users to share photos through Share Shot, while S Beam lets users share videos, pictures and more, with other Galaxy Note II and Galaxy S III devices.
The Galaxy Note II has a thinner and narrower look than its predecessor, the first Galaxy Note, adding a longer battery life and improvements on the stylus pen. The device also enables the expansion of its microSD slot to as much as 64GB of storage.
