Safety Shooters and Safety Babes have successfully pulled a tournament upset and are now table leaders, after the first round of the Prudent Energy Handball Premier League.
According to a release by the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN), Shooters and Babes, who are both sponsored by the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC), won all their matches and have now accrued the maximum 12 points from the preliminary stage of the games.
Kano Pillars are a close second, having won the same number of games as Shooters, but fall behind on goal difference.
Lagos Seasiders occupy third place with five wins from six games, while De Defenders are in fourth with five wins too.
COAS Shooters are in fifth place, while defending champion, Niger United, are in sixth place after recording only three wins.
Plateau Vipers occupy seventh place, Kada Stars are eighth, Borno Spiders are in ninth position while Rima Strikers are 10th with only one win from six games.
Owena Kings and Prison Key Boys occupy the 11th and 12th place respectively with no wins from all six games.
In the female category, Imo Grasshoppers are a close second, while Edo Dynamos are in third place.
Defending champions, Plateau Peacocks are in fourth place, Lagos Seasiders occupy fifth place, Kada Queens are in sixth, Defender Babes are seventh, while Desert Queens are eight on the table.
After recording no wins from the six encounters, Abia Valiants and Owena Queens, occupy the ninth and tenth positions respectively.
