As expected, Usoro’s feat was an easy school record (by over two-and-a-half feet) and emerged as a facility record for the SPC. She also set a meet record after emerging the winner of the long jump event with a 6.51 mark. Reacting to her achievements, She admitted to being surprised at hitting such heights this early in 2021.
‘I was really surprised when I saw it. I wasn’t expecting it at this time. It’s so early. I am just very thankful to God right now.’ Ruth Usoro
