With the plethora of tweets that flood Twitter threads on a daily basis, it is easy to forget about the tweets that matter most to us. Even with features such as Twitter lists and bookmarks, users can still get lost on the series of tweets they come across daily. Thanks to this new “Remind Me Tweets” feature, however, you can now get notifications on any tweet you’ve scheduled to remember on a specific date.
Remind Me Tweets is a bot that notifies you on tweets you’d like reminders on, in the future. You can simply select the tweet that you want to be reminded about; it could be one of your own tweets or one from another person’s Twitter account. Next, choose the time that you would like the notification for the tweet to come. You could choose any time duration from five minutes to 1 year or even a decade. All you need to do is type in the time you would like to be reminded: “remind me in 1 year”.
The bot then takes care of the rest by assuring you that it will remind you of your tweet. It also takes a screenshot of the tweet just in case it gets deleted or the account is suspended in the future.
Once the time has elapsed, the “Remind Me Tweets” bot responds under the same tweet in which you invoked to it reminding you of your tweet.
The Remind Me Tweets bot was introduced to Twitter in July 2019 but at the moment, it has over 20,000 followers. This proves how tools like this are perceived by social media users around the world. Social media channels like Twitter and Facebook can’t have every feature so it pays innovative minds to come up with solutions such as this.
