The African football heavyweights are set to face off in the final phase of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.Ex-Nigerian international Tijani Babangida has warned the Super Eagles to be careful about their approach towards the Ghanaian national team in the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers playoff billed for March 2022.

The Super Eagles will travel to Ghana for the first leg scheduled to hold on March 23, 2022, before returning for the second leg on March 29 in Nigeria. While Ghana was eliminated from the group stage of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon after failing to register a win, Nigeria made it to the second round with 9 points but fell to a 1-0 defeat against the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia. Tijani Babangida opined that the rivalry between the West African neighbours always bring out the best in both teams and urged the Super Eagles to avoid mistakes made at the AFCON and come out victorious in the two-legged encounter.

“There is no doubt that the upcoming clash between the Super Eagles and the Black Stars of Ghana will be a tough battle for both teams considering the rivalry between them,’’the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games gold medalist told Complete Sports during an interview.
