Musa believes Eagles can overcome the Black Stars in both encounters

Captain of the Nigerian national football team, Ahmed Musa, has assured Nigerians of the team’s readiness to defeat the Black Stars of Ghana in the two-legged 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers playoff.

Nigeria will travel to Ghana for the first leg of the encounter which is scheduled to hold on Friday, March 25, 2022, before returning home for the second leg at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja on March 29, 2022. Musa who is currently in the camp of the three-time African champions in Abuja expressed his wish for the Super Eagles to defeat Ghana in the first leg before the final tie in Abuja.

“We have to give all what we have in the first game to see what we can have before we come back home,’’ the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner said. “And by the grace of God, we will do all our best to see what we can do over there.” Coach Augustine Eguavoen will be banking on the experience of key stars like Musa who has been to the World Cup on two occasions (2014 and 2018) to help Nigeria defeat the Otto Addo tutored Ghanaian team in Kumasi when hostilities commence on Friday. Apart from the absence of key players like Wilfred Ndidi due to injury, and Maduka Okoye who reported being sick, Nigeria has a full house in their Abuja camp as both African heavyweights jostle for one of the five African World Cup tickets.
