Proposed Internet Association for Online Tech and Business Publishers
Staff Writer
A new forum is about to be established to bring online technology and business publishers together under a proposed internet association with both ecosystems; Nigerians and non-Nigerians alike.
Meetings will be scheduled to hold on weekends, bi-weekly and monthly via Skype and Google hangouts to ensure a wide scope of people are able to attend, non-Lagos residents in particular.
This mastermind group is to enable collaborations, networking and start a conversation in terms of earning. With the number of tech and business blogs and online forums in Nigeria, it is rather unfortunate that most of them do not rank high on Alexa relative to their counterparts abroad.
Similar associations can be found in different parts of the world. Examples include; the Large Association of Movie Blogs (LAMB); Online Publishers Association (OPA), and New Zealand Food Blogger’s Association (NZFBA).
This idea was generated by Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata Jnr, a broadcaster and columnist who stated, “We just need to come together if we must make something meaningful especially with regards to being taken seriously both by corporate, government and government agencies alike.”
The proposed names of the organization are;
Online Technology Publishers Association (OTPA)
Internet Publishers Technology Association (IPTA)
Business & Technology Online Publishers Forum (BTOPF)
The pilot program will start with 7-10 members, will run for a year, and if unsuccessful will be shut down. If interested, you can take the poll here http://doodle.com/5cb9rudq2348u8m7
