Poem of The Week: The Dyslexic Heartbreak

By Nehi Igbinijesu

Yes we aren’t picture perfect And hours on end we quit Yet our hearts beat in sync Our dreams draw us knit Wondering what others think And if we meant this be Scared by the messy mix Verboten blowouts bring Crazy with a love unreturned And the dyslexic heartbreak Of living green with frenzy Helpless, and circumcised Left to sit out in the cold Musing of days gone by The smiles, songs- the truth Brighten my day you did And walked out suddenly Greeted cold by your shoulder Wot not I wanted what T’was me I loathed but Didn’t ask you leave lost Only scare you of sorts Till a way found we thoughts Mother hen I do beckon Again some way back With something to douse This dyslexic heartbreak!   This Poem is part of the anthology of 30 Poems titled: “Dirges of The Niger” By Nehi Igbinijesu.
