Poem of the Week: A Clash of Two Odes

By Nehi Igbinijesu   Revelling in loathed rubbish Reeling in the ghastly pain Of gainful blood-letting And fears that sing an ode Oh song for how long Bleating melodious tirades Insulting insolence in situ Removing respect Starked up for years All in one simple ode Could this be another song from Anetor Swarming me delightfully With greatest of expectation Of morrows white and green No more captors No more desires Just an ode beset with fire And sweeping passions To which many lofty aspire Yes sing that song Arise o come patriot In verses strung with cods Vilifying murderous simpletons Dispersing all their flaws   This poem is part of the anthology of 30 Poems titled: “Dirges of The Niger” By Nehi Igbinijesu.
