Pictures of Nigerian afropop singer, Wizkid, at the Dolce and Gabbana Mens Fashion event last weekend, generated a lot of reactions from the online community. Now the sale of the photos is causing an even bigger stir.
The Starboy walked the Dolce & Gabbana runway on Saturday, at the Men’s Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2019, alongside British supermodel Naomi Campbell in Milan. He made history as the first ever African artist to walk at a fashion show of that calibre. Wizkid dazzled in a gold styled black outfit, with a studded mask and an embroidered pair of shoes to match.
Getty Images, an American stock photo agency, has put up pictures of the singer from Saturday’s event for sale online at a staggering $499 (₦179,889). The photos available on the website include a full view, his back view, and an up-close shot taken by Victor Virgile a photographer and contributor to the agency. The editorial rights to publish each picture has been set at $499 for large-sized pictures and $50 for smaller sized pictures.
Just as the stir caused by the first published pictures and videos are about to settle, Getty Image’s price tag on each picture is generating a lot of comments especially since the pictures are already everywhere on the internet, some of which were even shared by the singer himself on social media.
