Philips Obioha Wins Titan of Technology 2015 Merit Award

The Titans of Tech award is a yearly award organised by Technology Africa. It was designed to acknowledge outstanding individuals and organisations that have contributed to the growth and development of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector of the country.
Mr. Philips Obioha, the Chief Operating Officer of Computer Warehouse Group (CWG), was awarded the Titan of Technology 2015 Merit Award for his contribution to the growth of Information and Communications Technology in Nigeria. Obioha is a fellow of the Institute of Directors with more than 20 years of cognitive experience in the information technology industry. He was trained as an Electrical Engineer with specialization in digital electronics at West Virginia University.
Technology Africa, the organiser of the award stated that it selected Obioha following a release of a report of the Technology Africa intelligence unit on key industry contributors in the past one year.
The Managing Consultant at Technology Africa, Pedro Aganbi, added that Obioha received the award because of his immense contribution to the advancement of ICT in the country, especially in the area of innovation and corporate administration.
Aganbi stated that “The footprints of the CWG Plc. can be seen in every transaction made at the bank locations and other platforms. This is possible because of your contribution, you are a quiet hero and this award is being presented to you in acknowledgement of these feats and numerous others.”
Obioha expressed his appreciation for the award, stressing that the award reaffirmed CWG’s focus in providing 21st century information technology solutions for different sectors of the economy, including affordable technologies for government on a PPP model and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). He revealed that the company has recently developed a solution for the government, the CWG-IGR that will enable states grow Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), especially with the dwindling allocation from the federal level.
