With his popular mantra of moving Nigeria from a consumption nation to a producing nation, millions of Nigerians are anticipating how Obi plans to do so as well as how plans to “reduce the cost of governance”, which he often touts and believe will turn the country’s economic fortunes. However, despite Obi’s appeal for patience on the part of his supporters as well as the general public, an unofficial draft of the manifesto has made its way to the public domain. In reaction to this, Mr Peter Obi took to his official Twitter account to debunk its release. According to him,

“We have not formally released our Manifesto. I will do so personally. It seems an earlier draft copy under review has made its way into the public space. Until I release the approved and final draft, please disregard what is being circulated. –PO”Mr Peter Obi has been dubbed as the man to beat in the forthcoming election. His victory will mark the first of many things – he will be the first person of Igbo origin to be the executive president of Nigeria since independence.

Famed among Nigerian youths, who dubbed themselves #Obidients, Mr Obi’s journey to the presidency has reached the far ends of the international media such as BBC, CNN Aljazeera, France 24, The Economist, New York Times, and so on. However, many analysts worry if Peter Obi can overcome the ruling party, APC, with all its structures and state machinery as well the leading opposition party, the PDP, and all its existing structures. The Labour Party neither has a sitting governor, member of the House of Representatives or Senate or local government chairman.
