Workers of Cross River Geographic Information Agency (CRGIA) and the State Water Board Limited have cried out over the non-payment of their 15 and 18 months of their salaries respectively.
They obstructed the governor’s office as well as the Water Board gate on Thursday protesting in desperation. According to The Nation, as a result of their unpaid salaries, many of them have been sent packing from their homes because they couldn’t afford their rents.
They complained about the several promises by different government officials that were never carried out. Some of these promises were made when the arrears was about six months but nothing was ever done to date.
