It is no longer a rare sight to see religious leaders act as political advisories, many had, in the past few years, been actively involved in the political scheme and had even run for political positions. One of such religious leaders is Pastor Tunde Bakare of Latter Rain Assembly church.
He, the Convener of Save Nigeria Group, had come out to beseech the Federal Government to engage in the restructuring the country, an act that can be done by encouraging each geo-political zone to develop along its area of better comparative advantage.
According to the Guardian Newspaper, Bakare had made his opinion known at a State of the Nation’s Briefing at his church on Sunday, stating that restructuring is the key to returning the country to the winning formula of the past that would enhance its socio-economic development.
This is coming after the one day summit of South West and South East leaders in Enugu themed “Handshake Across the Niger”, aimed at a stronger regional cooperation among the two zone.
He, Bakare, highlighted the focal points of each zone and how such characteristics can be enhanced, and optimized to become a global powerhouse comprising of the six geopolitical zones.
