Osimhen and Škriniar clashed in the penalty box of Inter after both trying to head a cross from Hirving Lozano. Though the pair needed treatment, the Nigerian star came out worse and had to be taken off the game with a swollen black eye and cheekbone. A statement from Napoli said:
“The instrumental tests carried out on Victor Osimhen at the end of the Inter-Napoli match revealed multiple displaced fractures of the orbit and of the left cheekbone. The player will undergo surgery in the next few days and will remain under observation at the Niguarda Hospital in Milan tonight.’’

Osimhen’s injury could end up being a big blow for Nigeria if he is ruled out for two months because the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations will be coming up in January 2022 and the Super Eagles would love to have a full house as Nigeria seeks a fourth AFCON title. Osimhen was featured at the 2019 AFCON but played second fiddle to Odion Ighalo. He is now set to lead the Eagles attack barring any injuries when hostilities commence in Cameroun.
