If recent reports are anything to go by, 20-year-old Kenneth Omeruo who started all four of Nigeria’s matches in this summer’s World Cup in Brazil, will return to the Riverside Stadium to work with Aitor Karanka. The young Nigerian footballer has revealed that he is set to return to Middlesbrough on loan this season.
Omeruo, who started all of Nigeria’s matches in this summer’s World Cup in Brazil made 14 appearances for the championship side after joining on loan for the second half of last season.
It appears that the coach of Chelsea FC, Jose Mourinho is pleased with the present crop of defenders in the present Chelsea squad after the acquisition of Felipe Luis.
Earlier this month Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka – formerly Jose Mourinho’s assistant at Real Madrid – confirmed he expected Omeruo to return to the Riverside Stadium for the coming campaign.
On Sunday the 20-year-old – who can play as a centre-back or right-back – took to Twitter to reveal his excitement at returning to the North East to work with Karanka once more.
He quoted on twitter ‘Holiday is finished. Almost time for work again, happy to be re- joining Boro for a new season.’
What do you think, should Omeruo have gone back on loan?
