Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh has recalled English Premier League trio: John Mikel Obi, Victor Moses and Odion Ighalo for the upcoming friendlies against Cameroon and Congo. Chelsea duo, Mikel and Moses, and Watford striker Ighalo missed last month’s CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Tanzania.
Mikel and Ighalo were dropped from the team whilst Moses, currently on loan to West Ham, missed out due to an injury.
Lazio midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi was also recalled to the squad after serving his one match suspension for the red card he received against Chad back in June.
Nigeria is billed to play two friendlies in Belgium; Congo on October 8 in Antwerp and the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon three days later in Brussels. These will serve as preparations for their upcoming FIFA World Cup first-round qualifier against the winners of the preliminary round between Swaziland and Djibouti on November 9. Nigeria will host the return leg at home eight days later.
