Super Eagles’ Italy based midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has been ruled out of the forthcoming FIFA Confederations Cup due to injury.
The Lazio hard tackler picked up an injury in Nigeria’s 1-all draw with Namibia on Wednesday in Windhoek. He had to go off the field in the second half of the game and was replaced by John Ogu.
This is a huge blow to the Super Eagles’ who are already missing Emmanuel Emenike and Victor Moses through injury.
He is expected to be replaced by either Obinna Nwachukwu or Kunle Odunlami.
The Super Eagles will take on Oceania champions Tahiti in their first game for the Confederations Cup on 17th June before tackling South America champions Uruguay and World/European Champions, Spain.
