Obafemi Martins Moves To America, Joins Seattle Sounders from Spanish Side, Levante

Super Eagles star, Obafemi Akinwunmi Martins, who joined Spanish side Levante, from Russian side Rubin Kazan, has announced his move to Seattle Sounders, a Major League Soccer club based in Washington State in the US.
The club made a buyout of his remaining contract with Levante, for $3.9 million. He played for Levante for 6-months, scoring 7 times in 21 appearances.
He will be a forward for the American side, and hopefully qualify them for 2013 MLS playoffs and for the championship. Martins, 28, expressed his delighted with the move on twitter and promised to make available more details about his contract. He wrote,”Thank you all for the well wishes. Martins will be another star from Europe to play in the MLS. He has also been recalled to the Nigerian Squad to play against Kenya in Calabar on March 23 for the 2014 World Cup Qualifiers.
