Nigeria youngster Kelechi Nwakali has penned a five-year deal with North London club, Arsenal.
Nwakali, who was the player of the tournament at last year’s U17s World Cup, will officially become an Arsenal player when he turns 18 in the summer.
It is rumoured that Arsenal had to cough out £3million to Diamond Football Academy in order to get the deal for the highly-rated box-to-box midfielder over the line.
The 17-year-old was the cynosure of all eyes at the World Cup and attracted interest from Manchester City and Bayern Munich but chose to move to his boyhood club just to work with Arsene Wenger.
He has already had a tour of the Gunners’ facilities in London and has since returned back to Nigeria.
