The Nigerian-born fighter ‘The Natural’, won the bout comprehensively on points 100-89, 98-91, 99-90. Speaking to the media after the fight, Ekundayo thanked his fans for their support, and for coming out to watch him defend his title. He recognized the Chairman of Bajis Group, Alhaji Buhari Sani and his wife; Segun Adeniji, Luqman Arisekola Alao and members of the Love of Christ Church who were present for the encounter.
It’s a positive thing for me to be representing Nigeria and my family. My children were born in Britain and have never been to Nigeria. I’m doing it for them. They know their roots even though they were born here. It’s something I see as a positive thing. I get the British fans to support me too, so it’s win-win.— Ekundayo
