Nigerians In Sports: Aiyegbeni Tips Osimhen To Become World Class Striker

Brila

Ex-Super Eagles striker, Yakubu Aiyegbeni has tipped Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, to become one of the leading strikers in world football in the near future. Osimhen who plies his trade with French Ligue One side, Lille OSC, has caught the eye of many this season with his goal-scoring exploits which has seen him net 18 goals across all competition for the Les Douges. The 21-year-old Nigerian’s effort has seen him linked to some of the biggest clubs in world football such as Real Madrid and Liverpool, and Aiyegbeni who spent most of his playing years in England, with clubs like Middleborough FC, Everton, Blackburn Rovers, among others, believes Osimhen will achieve more if he maintains his current dedication and commitment towards the game.

So many young footballers you see here and there love money and not football, but when you see this boy, you will see that he loves football. That is why you see the desire and zeal in him every time, and if he keeps performing like this week in, week out, training well and staying focused, he will be one of the top strikers in the world. He is an example to other young footballers who should watch the way he plays at the moment to check themselves. Osimhen is a young lad who fights, works so hard and scores goals every week

Yakubu who is placed third on Nigeria’s top goal-scorers chart with 21 goals for the national team, is convinced that Osimhen who has bagged four goals in nine matches for the country’s senior team so far can go all the way to break goal-scoring records in the country if given the chance.

Records are meant to be broken. He can, if given the chance to play and I hope they can let him play in the Super Eagles for more years.
