Nigerian Boxer Oyeleye To Face Mexico’s Reyes In Las Vegas

Nigerian boxer Oluwafemi Oyeleye, who was born on the 22nd of October 1994 is set to take on Mexico’s Hector Reyes in a middleweight challenge contest in Las Vegas, United States of America on Saturday. The fight which is under renowned Boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather’s promotion company, Mayweather Promotions, will take place at Sam’s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall, Las Vegas. Oyeleye 22, started boxing at age 5 after his mum got him his first kit. His father, Mr. Ojo Abayomi Oyeleye is a boxing coach, so it was easy for the youngster to start early. According to the Nigerian born Boxer, he started boxing at such a tender age to protect himself from school bullies in his elementary school in Maiduguri, Borno State. Oluwafemi Oyeleye who won gold for Nigeria at the 2015 All Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville after defeating Cameroon’s Salif Msangou Njikam in the men’s Welterweight -69kg final, caught the attention of his present sponsor and promoter; American millionaire and boxing great Floyd Mayweather Jr. His coach’s friend saw him spar and fell in love with his style, the same style which attracted Mayweather on their second meeting at his gym, and he was signed to Mayweather Promotions. Oyeleye ranks 5/10 on boxrec, with 3 bouts, 9 rounds and 33% KO. He has an unbeaten professional record of three wins, with one knockout against Uriel Gonzalez. His opponent, Reyes at 24, is also unbeaten in his six professional fights so far, securing four knockouts. This fight is definitely one you don’t want to miss.
