As the world is still in shock over the death of the retired basketball icon, Kobe Bryant, Nigerians have joined the train in sending condolences. But more importantly, Nigerian basketballers are have been weighing in with their condolences. Many Nigerian basketball fans would recall albeit painfully the heavy loss at the 2012 London Olympics where Kobe was in imperious form. In that game, the NBA legend scored 16 points in his first 11 minutes.

The 41-year-old was said to be flying to the Staples Center in Los Angeles when his Sikorsky helicopter crashed over Calabasas, CA. Also on-board was his thirteen-year-old daughter, Gianna alongside some eight others on the chopper.
