Talented, Nigerian-born artist, Ruby Onyinyechi Amanze, was hosted at the third edition of 1:54, Europe’s leading art fair dedicated to Contemporary African Art.
A graduate of the Tyler School of Art, Temple University in Philadelphia, USA, Ruby has gained significant international recognition for her work, with past exhibitions in New York, Lagos and London. Notably, she was granted a Fulbright Scholars Award in 2012 to join the Department of Fine and Applied Arts faculty at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
Themed Sexuality and Sahara, the 1:54 art fair hosted 150 local and diasporan African artists, attracting a total of 15,000 attendees from around the world. It is the only international fair of its kind; its name symbolizing the 54 countries of Africa including South Africa, Morocco, Angola, Tunisia, Benin, Kenya, Nigeria, Cote d’Ivoire, and Zimbabwe.
