Nigeria confronted Algeria without a number of their key players such as Wilfred Ndidi, Joe Aribo, and Oghenekaro Etebo, who were all ruled out due to injuries, while Africa’s most expensive player, Victor Osimhen, could not join the squad due to travel restrictions in Napoli because of COVID-19. ‘We definitely must put up a greater effort against the Tunisians. Today’s friendly is the third time both teams are clashing in a friendly game with the first friendly between both countries in 1984 ending 5-0 in favour of Tunisia, while both countries settled for a 1-1 draw in 1992 in Tunis. Last time the North Africans defeated Nigeria was on a penalty shootout in the 2004 AFCON semi-finals which Tunisia hosted and won.
