1. The World Bank’s Doing Business in Nigeria 2014 Report has revealed that
Nigeria has recorded significant improvements in its Doing Business Index within the last four years. This year’s report is the third in a series of reports analysing business regulations across Nigeria.
2. The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Mr. Ernest Nwapa has stated that the
implementation of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGID) Act of 2010 has recorded an inflow of over $5 billion into the Nigerian economy.

British Airways has recently announced that it will resume direct daily flights from Kuala Lumpur to London from May 27, 2015. British Airways will be the only airline to offer premium economy seating between London and Kuala Lumpur.

annual value of make-up has been estimated to be $1.6million according to a research by CIUCI Consulting, a Nigerian research firm. With a total female population of 86.9 million, 60 percent of whom are active make-up users, who spend an average of N10, 000 a year on make-up, the market grosses annual revenue of N258, 904, 734.

The Lagos State government is set to relocate traders in the Computer Village market numbering between 3,000 and 3,500 to a new location in Katangowa, a suburb of Lagos. The plan to relocate the market was finally reached during a meeting at the weekend between the Lagos State government; Bridgeways, the company contracted by Lagos State to handle the new market building project, and members of Computer and Allied Products Dealers Association of Nigeria (CAPDAN), the umbrella body of the Computer Village traders.

Transcorp Hotels Plc (THP) has concluded plans to build two new flagship hotels in Lagos and Port Harcourt, at an estimated cost of $240 million (N38.4 billion), as part of its business expansion agenda.
8. The Director-General, Bureau of Public Enterprise, Mr. Benjamin Dikki, has disclosed that
the privatization of federal airports in the country will commence soon. He stated, “We are planning to commence the privatisation of airports; the airports will be more efficient if the private sector is running them. Very soon, we will engage the Minister of Aviation and we will start a new process of privatising or concession of airports just like we have done with the seaports…”

Airtel Nigeria has built two wings of modern market stalls in the Okehi market in Etche community, Rivers State, and also donated borehole water pumps for the residents. Rivers State project was selected from the list put in by Chukwuma Nwankwoala, an indigene of Okehi Etche community in the state who became the 25th million customer on the Airtel network after buying and activating an Airtel SIM on January 6, 2014 in his native town.

International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) Executive Board approved $21.5 billion in financing for member countries, in addition to $220 million in concessional financing for low-income countries, the Managing Director, Christine Lagarde, has said.
