Nigeria’s home based Super Eagles qualified for their maiden CHAN tournament despite losing 2-nil against the Ivorians in Abidjan on Saturday.
The Super Eagles’ team lost 2-nil on the day but had 4-3 on aggregate to book their place for the tournament in South Africa.
Kevin Zougoula scored both goals for the Ivorians, capitalising on the horrendous defending by the Super Eagles’ back line.
He pounced on Augustine Egwueke and Chigozie Agbim’s misunderstanding to give the Ivorians the lead before scoring from the spot few minutes later but Eagles held on for the aggregate win.
