Nigeria Now Ahead of the United Kingdom in Internet Access

Nigeria has surpassed the United Kingdom as one of the fastest growing countries in the area of information technology access, a report by digitXplus has shown. digitXplus is the digital arm of MediareachOMD Nigeria, a media planning and buying specialist company. digitXplus data report shows that Nigeria has recorded a 200 percent growth rate in its number of internet users between 2009 and 2013. In 2012, the number of internet users in Nigeria was tied at 55 million, same number as the UK, but increased by 14 percent to about 62.4 million in 2013 – two million users above the UK.
